The Systematic Observations Financing Facility is proud to share the new presentation video, featuring powerful statements and insights from key SOFF supporters.
Launched only three years ago, SOFF is supporting more than 60 countries’ investment in weather and climate observations, responding to the Paris Agreement’s urgent call to strengthen systematic observations. As an innovative UN Fund, SOFF provides crucial long-term financing and technical support to developing countries, specifically targeting the region’s most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change: Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDC).
In the video, experts and partners share compelling perspectives on why sustained investment in weather and climate observations is crucial, highlighting how better data is directly linked to stronger local climate action and bolsters resilience worldwide. Their testimonials emphasize SOFF’s provision of a vital global public good through reliable data for improving early warning systems and safeguarding populations from climate-related hazards across the globe.
